1:1 Exercise Physiology

Our 1-on-1 exercise therapy sessions are designed to provide personalised, focused support for each child. Tailored to their unique needs, these sessions target key developmental goals, such as improving motor skills, strength, coordination, and balance. Our exercise physiologists use a play-based approach to make each session enjoyable and engaging, ensuring the therapy feels like fun while delivering real results. With 1-on-1 therapy, children receive the attention and support they need to build confidence, master new skills, and make meaningful progress in their development.

Group Exercise Physiology

Our group intervention sessions combine the benefits of social interaction and physical activity to support children's developmental progress. These sessions, which include group exercise activities are designed to improve motor skills, coordination, and teamwork, while fostering a sense of community and peer support. By participating in fun, engaging exercises alongside others, children develop confidence in their abilities, learn from one another, and strengthen both their physical and social skills. Our group sessions create a motivating and supportive environment where children can reach their goals together, building friendships and achieving growth in a dynamic, collaborative setting.

Our Early Intervention Program is designed to support children aged 0–6 as they work toward important developmental milestones. Using a fun, play-based approach, we help build early movement skills, support emotional regulation, and foster independence and social interaction. Whether at home, in childcare, or out in the community, our sessions focus on preparing your child for school through purposeful movement, games, and interactive activities that develop physical, emotional, and cognitive foundations.

At AKtive Kids, our holiday programs and intensives offer a unique opportunity for children to engage in focused, sport-specific or developmental activities during the school breaks. Our intensives, held during the school holidays, provide a concentrated approach to therapy, allowing children to make rapid progress in a short amount of time. These programs are tailored to each child's abilities and interests, ensuring a dynamic and enjoyable experience while achieving key developmental milestones.

Sports Skills and Drills

Our Sport Skills Program helps children build the confidence and coordination they need to thrive in team sports and school PE. Designed for kids who want to improve their performance or feel more confident joining in, we focus on fundamental movement and sport-specific skills like throwing, catching, kicking and agility. Sessions run term-by-term and are tailored to your child’s goals, with a focus on one sport each term. Delivered 1:1 or in small groups, we combine structured drills and repetition to support skill development in a fun and encouraging way.

Gross Motor Assessments

Our Gross Motor Assessments are designed to identify your child’s strengths and areas needing support, creating a clear baseline for therapy and NDIS planning. Ideal for children starting or continuing intervention, these assessments track physical development over time with measurable outcomes. Conducted by an Exercise Physiologist, we use a mix of standardised and observational tools to assess strength, balance, coordination, posture, reflexes, and functional movement. Optional written reports and collaborative goal-setting ensure a clear path forward for your child’s development.

Hydrotherapy Sessions

Our Hydrotherapy Program offers a gentle, supportive way to build strength, mobility, and motor control in the water. Ideal for children who benefit from sensory input, need low-impact movement, or find land-based exercises challenging, sessions are delivered 1:1 in a heated pool by an accredited Exercise Physiologist. Each session is tailored to your child’s needs, focusing on functional movement, endurance, coordination, and confidence in the water, all while having fun in a safe and calming environment.

Parent & Educator Workshops

We offer parent and educator education seminars to equip families and professionals with the knowledge and tools to support children's physical development. Whether in a group or 1-on-1 setting, these seminars focus on the importance of exercise in a child's growth and development. We provide practical strategies for incorporating exercise at home and in school, emphasising how to make movement a fun and integral part of daily routines. Our goal is to empower parents and educators with the skills to promote physical health, build motor skills, and foster an active lifestyle for children, both inside and outside of therapy sessions.
